White Pass Summit TourSkagway

Built in 1898 during the Klondike Gold Rush, this narrow gauge railroad is an International Historic Civil Engineering Landmark - a designation shared with the Panama Canal, the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty.

The WP&YR climbs nearly 3000 feet in just 20 miles and features steep grades of up to 3.9%, cliff-hanging turns of 16 degrees, two tunnels and numerous bridges and trestles. See the steel cantilever bridge which was the tallest of its kind in the world when it was constructed in 1901.

Experience the breathtaking panorama of mountains, glaciers, gorges, waterfalls, tunnels, trestles and historic sites from the comfort of our vintage passenger coaches.

Tens of thousands of men and 450 tons of explosives overcame harsh climate and challenging geography to create “the railway built of gold.”

This tour departs from Whitehorse in the morning and will travel through the heart of the Southern Lakes region of the Yukon.  A stop in the historic town of Carcross and at several scenic viewpoints along the route will provide may opportunities for photographs and discussions with your guide on the history and geography of the area.  Lunch will be provided and also time to explore Skagway, Alaska.  As we will be crossing the United States border, proper documents are required.

Cost per person plus tax

Between 1 and 29 people the cost would be $175 per person
For 30 and greater, the cost would be $125 via private coach.

Kluane FlightseeingKluane

Located 160KM to the west of Whitehorse, the Village of Haines Junction lies in southwestern Yukon in an expansive, flat-bottomed valley known as the Shakwak Trench. To the east are the low rolling hills of Yukon’s Interior Plateau. Rising abruptly to the west are the St. Elias Mountains of Kluane National Park and Preserve - a breathtaking backdrop.

The peaks visible from the community and that parallel the highway form the Kluane Ranges, rising to heights of 3,438 m (8,000 ft.). Beyond, but mostly hidden from view, are the peaks of the Icefield Ranges. These are the big ones, including Mt. Logan, Canada’s highest at 5959 meters (19,549 feet). Here, too, lies the largest non-polar ice cap on the planet–immense valleys and huge rivers of ice, some as long as 100 km. This is an ice age landscape.

Designated a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Site, Kluane National Park and Reserve–together with Tatshenshini-Alsek Provincial Park to the south in British Columbia and Wrangell-St.Elias National Park and Glacier Bay National Park to the west in Alaska–comprise 9.8 million hectares of outstanding wilderness, the largest internationally protected wilderness area in the world.

We will stop at the National Park visitors reception centre for a brief explanation of the Park and the surroundings.  From here we will travel south to the shores of Kathleen Lake to be meet by noted Kluane First Nation story teller and drummer, Ron Chambers.  Ron will tell us of the First Nations history of the area through song and stories from the site where his family has lived for generations.  After lunch we will be meet by a local guide who will lead the group on a short hike through the park be fore returning to Whitehorse.
